To be absolutely clear it's the file rld-sh14 that doesn't overwrite the old files Ok I couldn't remember for sure, but just checked the DVD and mine is already version 1.4 I think I only had to overwrite the files with SH3.EXE, MISSIONENGINE.DLL, SIMDATA.DLL, UTILS.DLL & STATEMACHINE.DLL Just check the setup.exe or Silent Hunter III exe in Program files to check version already. I am having this problem. I installed SH3 on a Windows 7 machine and I can't get it to play. Originally it would not accept the password protection thing from starforce. I tried running the game in Windows XP, 2000, and 98 compatibility to no avail.
